Provider Spotlight
Abundance Health care is a primary care clinic in Colorado Springs, founded by Dr. La Tasha Bruner-Hill to address the needs of underserved populations in El Paso County and surrounding areas. The clinic’s vision of generational health and health equity is advanced through eConsults, which allow providers to quickly connect with specialists to determine the next steps, saving time and ensuring coordinated care for their patients.
Dr. Bruner-Hill shared one of her recent experiences with using eConsult for a patient.
“The Colorado Medicaid eConsult platform is easy to use, and it allows me to get timely advice for patients who might otherwise wait months to be seen by a specialist. For one teenage patient, the specialist provided guidance on which labs to order to help work up their presenting complaint.
I was able to bring the patient into our clinic, keeping them in their medical home, to complete the testing. I followed up with the same specialist by resubmitting the eConsult, attaching the lab results, and I received actionable guidance on treatment options for the patient. Having that ability to continue the conversation with the same specialist is one of the most valuable parts of the platform.”
